Position Description:

 

IBTCI is currently seeking a Team Leader (TL) for the USAID Kenya and East Africa Health Population and Nutrition (HPN) APHIAplus Imarisha Activity end of project evaluation. The Team Leader will manage the team to ensure that the necessary planning, development, management, and field activities function smoothly and efficiently. This position is open to Kenyan nationals only. 

Responsibilities

The Team Leader is responsible for the overall management of the evaluation team and the final products. In addition, the TL is responsible for coordinating evaluation activities and ensuring the production and completion of an evaluation report in conformance with the scope of work and timelines. S/he will ensure data integrity, high quality analysis, written reports and report integration. S/he is also responsible for quality assurance and timeliness of all deliverables. The Team Leader is responsible for the writing of the final evaluation report and preparing and submitting all Task Order deliverables.

 

This position requires travel to Nairobi and Northern Arid Land Region, Kenya.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

Education: Master’s degree or higher in Public Health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Sciences or related field

 

Language: English: Fluency in speaking, reading and writing required

 

Required experience:

 

  • At least 10 years or more of experience in designing and implementing evaluations, operations, and research projects in Sub-Sharan Africa, including the East Africa region
  • At least 7 years evaluating donor-funded activities
  • Strong program management and team leadership skills, especially managing evaluation teams in developing countries
  • Strong background in field research in health programming; experience in qualitative and quantitative methods and analysis; experience designing samples, framework and conducting baseline studies, operational research and/or evaluation studies
  • Proven track record of excellent written English communications skills as evidenced by authored reports
  • Strong skills in designing mid-term and final evaluations of international health development projects including identifying appropriate evaluation questions, designing appropriate methods, data analysis, synthesis, interpretations, report writing and presentation
  • Solid skills in data analysis, synthesis, reporting and presentation
  • Demonstrated skills in research design, research methods, quantitative and qualitative data analysis and management
  • Excellent organizational, writing, communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing analysis, synthesis, documentation and dissemination of lessons for a range of stakeholders
