International Business & Technical Consultants, Inc. (IBTCI), a U.S. based international development consulting company established in 1987, has worked in over one hundred countries and implemented over two hundred projects.  IBTCI serves government agencies, private sector companies and several donor agencies.  IBTCI specializes in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) across many sectors including, but not limited to, conflict and crisis, democracy and governance, economic growth, education, environment, and global health.

IBTCI is currently seeking a Business Development Consultant.  This is a temporary position for one to three months based in the U.S. offices of IBTCI.  This is a mid-senior level and begins immediately.


Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:  

  • Articulate new business capture strategies and plans.
  • Support overall proposal management of entire technical and cost proposals and requests for information on specific business opportunities identified by IBTCI.
  • Formulate components of proposals including both technical and non-technical sections.
  • Formulate components of cost proposals.
  • Coordinate the proposal development process and maintain timelines for proposal teams.
  • Provide review/quality assurance of technical and cost proposals.
  • Provide assistance with recruitments on bids and projects.
  • Assist with business development plans and research.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
  • Serve in the consultant capacity to support the IBTCI Technical Practices and the IBTCI Business Development Division.
  • This position does not authorize/require the consultant to directly communicate with IBTCI clients.
  • This position does not authorize/require the consultant to have decision making authority on final work products.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage complex activities, prioritize workload and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.


Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of experience in business development, with a demonstrated track record of winning proposals.
  • Experience working with USG/USAID required.
  • Oral and written fluency in English required. Proficiency in an additional language preferred.


Education:  Bachelor’s degree in international development, international business, marketing or other relevant field required.  Master’s degree preferred.


Supervisory Responsibility:  This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.


Travel:  Travel not required.
