International Business & Technical Consultants, Inc. Job Title: Local Experts / Data collectors

Overview: IBTCI is seeking Local Experts / Data Collectors to assist the evaluation team with date collection and analysis requirements.  The evaluation will take into accounting UNFPA’s capacity to respond to humanitarian crises and use of the population data in humanitarian preparedness and response.  The period of performance is expected to be between 12-20 months during 2018.  This position is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the core team with the preparation, conduct of the field missions as well as reporting.
  • Contribute to various tasks related to the evaluation such as: desk review, stakeholder mapping, mission planning, including the mission agenda preparation, conduct interviews/group discussions, draft interview logbooks, and prepare country evidence tables.
  • Assist with document reviews.
  • May conduct desk research and analyses.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of national/regional/local context in accordance with the solicitation.
  • Technical knowledge in thematic areas such as (i) sexual and reproductive health; (ii) gender equality; (iii) population dynamics; (iv) adolescents and youth.
  • Interpretation experience, a plus
  • Good communication skills (written, spoken) in languages spoken in the region and countries covered, preferred.
  • Administrative and logistical experience.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2-5 years of administrative and logistical experience;
  • Strong organizational skills to support the evaluation team;
  • Demonstrable analytical skills in English; must provide examples.
  • Demonstrable analytical and writing/drafting skills in English;
  • Oral and written fluency in English and the local language required.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment, with some time spent in the field.

Supervisory Responsibility:  This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

 

Physical Requirements:  This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.

Travel:  Travel not required.
