Overview: IBTCI is seeking a senior project management specialist for the anticipated USAID/Uganda Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Contract. The five-year contract has the objective of achieving strengthened collaboration, learning and performance to enhance the impact and sustainability of USAID-supported contributions to Uganda’s development.  The contract will help USAID/Uganda strengthen its Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA) and overall performance through a broad range of technical assistance, professional development, logistics, small grants and other staff support.  This position is contingent upon award.  Ugandan nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:  

• Supervise, guide and continuously train, coach and mentor project management assistants;
• Support USAID/Uganda in continuously training, coaching and mentoring/setting up mentorship arrangements for its project managers;
• Support USAID/Uganda adaptive management efforts;
• Assume other tasks that to strengthen USAID/Uganda’s project/activity management performance;
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project or program management of donor-funded development projects, preferably with USAID-funded projects;
• Four (4) years of experience supervising, mentoring and and/or coaching staff;
• Experience with USAID or another donor;
• Working knowledge of and experience with US Government-funded program management, policies, regulations and procedures;
• Quality past performance references related to the position.

Working Environment: Corporate office environment as well as field work.

Education:  Bachelor's degree in business, social science, development studies or related field.

Supervisory Responsibilites:  This position does have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: The position is based in Kampala but may require travel to other areas of Uganda.
